Rentals: Bourgogne Randonnées is located near Meursault in Beaune. They rent e-bikes (pedal-assisted bikes), touring bikes, racing bikes, child trailers, kids bikes, and more. They are knowledgeable about cycling in the area around Meursault and the Voie Vert paths along the vineyards from Beaune to Santenay, as well as trails along the Burgundy canals and the Hautes Côtes. The are happy to provide cycling itineraries and advice on where to stop for picnics or restaurants. Pick the bikes up near the train station in Beaune, or Bourgogne Randonnées will deliver rental bicycles to your location.
Rentals: Bourgogne Evasion, located about 10km away in Beaune, offers bike rentals by the day and the week starting as low as 15€ / day. They also have motor assisted e-bikes, bike trailers for carrying children, and kids' bicycles for rent as well. You can pick the bikes up near the vineyard bike paths in Beaune, or Bourgogne Evasion will deliver rental bicycles to your location.
Tours: Bourgogne Evasion also offers 1/2 day and multi-day bike and wine tours through Beaune and the Route des Grand Crus.

Hike, walk, or bike along the trails that traverse the vineyards from Beaune to Santenay. From our holiday cottages, just walk about 150 meters downhill to the vineyards (map) and enjoy paved and dirt paths that run along the base of the vineyards and up the vineyard hills. This photo was taken at the top of the Meursault vineyards, looking down on the village. The paths are public, though visitors are asked to respect the vines and stay on the paths. A large public park with walking paths, boats to rent, petting zoo. Some facilities are only available from spring to summer.
This spacious public park in Chassagne-Montrachet has everything you need for a delightful afternoon. Lots of space to play, playground structures, a public bathroom AND a lovely outdoor restaurant that serves food all day. It is casual enough you could even bike there from our holiday cottage. A rare find in France, they are open 7 days a week, 10:30am-9pm. The menu includes cheese and charcuterie plates, wine and other beverages, and full lunch. Make online reservations here.
Just a few kilometers from our holiday rental cottages, this delightful swimming park near Beaune features shallow wade-in pools for young children and deeper pools with a slide, a rope swing, a climbing wall, and diving platforms for more adventurous swimmers. The vast grassy beach is a lovely place to pass the afternoon while the children swim, though there is little shade, so consider bringing an umbrella. You can bring in your own food or there is a food shack. Note: Boys must wear short swim trunks (mid-thigh maximum). Longer board-style shorts are not allowed. There is a vending machine that sells short swim trunks at the park.
From March to October, experience the vineyards from above in a hot air balloon. Beaune Hot Air Ballooning offers tours over Meursault and other villages along the Route des Grands Crus. They have hot air ballooning packages for individuals, couples, and small groups.
From May to October, the Chateau de Pommard offers a wine and ballooning experience. Soar above the vineyards and taste the wine that is produced from them, with a professional WSET trained advisor. The ballooning experience includes tasting 5 wines and a visit to the estate.
See the vineyards from a new perspective on the back of a quad, four-wheeled motorcycle. Quad Aventure Bourgogne offers quad "hikes" (randonées) in the hills around the Route des Grands Crus. Quad Aventure can arrange wine tasting stops, picnics, or restaurant reservations along the route for a fun all-day outdoor adventure.
Guided quad hikes start at 60€ per driver for 1 hour and 10€ per hour for passengers who won't drive. Rates per hour decrease, going up to 200 €/driver for the entire day. A 4-hour minimum per group is required but can be filled by 2 people for 2 hours, 1 person for 4 hours, etc. Children from age 7 (or 130 cm tall) can ride as passengers. You can join other groups, if available, to meet the minimum. The owners speak some English, but email may be easier for arrangements if you need English.
Test yourself in the tree obstacle courses (parcours) at this outdoor adventure park. Acro'mania has instituted COVID safety procedures and will be reopening June 6, 2020. Reservations are required and can be made online. The park also offers augmented reality treasure hunts in the forest (in French) and pedal carts.
